Woldingham is one of the highest and leafiest villages on the Surrey Downs, a Green Belt enclave of big detached houses on large wooded plots. The old village and green sit up on the ridge off Church Road and Northdown Road, Woldingham Garden Village spreads along the slopes, and the station sits down in the Marden Park valley below, where Woldingham School and its woods run out to the North Downs Way. It is a patch of mature specimen trees, steep gardens and field-edge woodland, and one we cover on our regular Surrey run from Horley.
